Lazer is pleased to confirm that it is to be the official helmet partner of Matrix Pro Cycling.
Now entering its eighth year as a team, Matrix has a team of six riders with big ambitions for 2017. Following huge successes for its riders in Rio, with all four of the team’s UK Olympians winning gold medals, the Matrix riders will compete on many fronts during the summer. The team has also bolstered its line-up with the addition of Dutch sprint star Laurine van Riessen.
Laurine shot to fame around the world when she ‘rode the wall’ in Rio, and will now be racing with her choice of Lazer helmets, including the brand new model ‘Track-Air’ released just before the iceBike* show in the UK.
Part of the summer program will include UK events, with the team hoping to be accepted into the Matrix Fitness GP for several of the rounds. Juggling many different ambitions this season should lead to an exciting few months. The riders have pretty diverse goals as they take on many solo challenges, as well as coming together for some key events as a team. The UK road and TT national championships on the Isle of Man is one event that the team is particularly keen to tackle.
Matrix Pro Cycling is preparing to launch the 2017 team line-up on 31 March in Manchester, with all of its Olympic stars coming together. Lazer will be on hand to show its latest products and which ones will be used by the team. Those interested in attending the launch can register an interest online.
Matrix Pro Cycling Team Manager, Stefan Wyman, said: “Having a company like Lazer choose us gives us great confidence. Many of our riders are familiar with Lazer products from its partnership with British Cycling. The development we have seen happening with Lazer and the new products being released makes everyone confident that we have a fantastic partnership as we start a brand new phase with the team.”
